New time-based fee during Eid in Salik toll system
During Eid al-Adha in Dubai, Dubai toll operator “Slack” has announced toll fees during “peak” and “off-peak” hours for four days (June 5 to 8, 2025):
Toll Fee | Applicable Time | Traffic Condition |
---|---|---|
6 AED (Peak) | 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM | High Traffic |
4:00 PM – 8:00 PM | High Traffic | |
4 AED (Off-Peak) | 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Low Traffic |
8:00 PM – 1:00 AM | Low Traffic | |
0 AED (Free) | 1:00 AM – 6:00 AM | Toll Waived |
Remember that on normal days there is a fixed fee of 4 dirhams on Sundays, but this will not apply on holidays.
Why has this change been announced?
The Dubai government has taken this decision to control traffic and improve road use. The system was updated on the occasion of Eid, but has already been in effect since January 31, 2025, with the aim of reducing the number of vehicles during rush hours.
There is more rush during Eid days, so it will take time to collect tolls. The government has therefore made it free, which will be applicable only during Eid days. After that, regular rates will apply.
