How to Check Salik Balance using Salik Website
This is easier method to check Salik balance online without login. You have to provide your car and number information’s and in seconds you can see your balance.
1. Open the Website and Find “Check my Balance”
Go to www.salik.ae and from the menu, click on “Check my balance”. You can use mobile and desktop any device to do this.

2. Type Required details:
Now, you have to type your registered mobile number, vehicle information, and Plate details.
- Enter your registered mobile number
- Select your city from first dropdown menu
- In second dropdown menu, select your transport type, if this is private then select “Private”.
- In Last dropdown menu, select your vehicle number and type it in next box.
- Click on “Check Balance” to know your Salik balance free.

This method works if you have a Salik account. If you don’t have one yet, you will need to register with Salik first.
If you are already a registered user:
- Login to Salik official website using your ID and PIN
- Your balance will be clearly visible on your account’s main page.

Check Salik Balance using Smart Salik App (The Best and Easiest Way)

This is my personal favourite and the one I recommend to everyone. The official Smart Salik app is your one-stop shop for everything Salik-related.
How to Check Balance via the App:
- Download the App: Get the “Smart Salik” app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Log In or Register: If you are using the Salik app for the first time, then you will have to register first, for which you will have to enter your mobile number and Set a PIN for your account. The setup is a one-time thing and takes just a couple of minutes. Log in to your Salik account by entering your mobile number and PIN.
- Tap on “Check Balance” to view your account balance.
Pro-Tip from a Resident: Enable push notifications in the app. It will automatically alert you when your balance drops below a certain threshold AED 30. Remember, you can set a limit yourself.
Check Salik Balance Via SMS (The Quick, No-Internet Method)
If you prefer the simple method or have internet issues, check your Salik balance via SMS. It is simple and quick method.
Steps to check balance via SMS:
- Step 1: Open your messaging app and create a new message.
- Step 2: Type your Salik Tag number, followed by a space and your vehicle plate number (for example, 1234567 DXB12345).
- Step 3: Send the message to 5959.
- Step 4: You will immediately receive a response with your current balance and account status.
Pro Tip: Save the number 5959 in your contacts as “Salik Balance” so you don’t have to worry about finding the number and sending messages over and over again.
Call the Salik Customer Service Center
If you prefer to speak to a representative, the Salik call center is available 24/7 to assist you. This step should be taken if you are unable to find out your Salik balance in any way or need any other assistance.

How to top up your Salik account
After checking the balance, it’s just as easy to top up. Here are the most common methods:
- Online Top Up: Top up with a credit/debit card via the Salik website or app.
- SMS: Send a top-up request with your tag number and desired amount to 5959 (for example, “1234567 50” for AED 50).
- Kiosks: Top up with cash or card at a Salik kiosk or RTA center.
- Auto Recharge: Set up automatic top-ups via the Salik app or website to avoid the need for manual recharges. For this, you will need to keep card payments turned on at all times.
Why is it important to check your credit balance regularly?
You may have to pay a penalty due to insufficient balance. So, try to recharge with at least 100 dirhams.
- First violation: AED 100 fine.
- Second violation: AED 150 fine.
- Third violation and thereafter: AED 200 fine per violation.
Always recharge your card to travel uninterruptedly at Dubai’s toll gates, such as Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Maktoum Bridge, or Al Garhoud Bridge. AED 4-6 is deducted from your account for each toll gate you cross.
Bonus Tip: If you cross 2 toll gates within half an hour, you only have to pay the toll tax once.
Salik Prices in 2025
