Sheikh Zayed Road was ordered to be closed for a short period on Sunday due to the annual Dubai Fitness Challenge event “Dubai Run”. The famous 14-lane road will be closed from 3:30 am to 10:30 am. If you live in the UAE and are planning a trip, then you must read this news.
In 2017, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed launched the Dubai Fitness Challenge intending to encourage people to adopt a healthy lifestyle. This event is held every year to encourage the public to adopt a healthy lifestyle as the road is opened to runners.
The 30×30 Challenge encourages people to exercise for 30 minutes a day, lasting for 30 days.
Sheikh Zayed Road closure time:
- This popular 14-lane road will be closed from 3:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

What are the race routes for participants?
The event includes two different routes so people can participate at their convenience:
- 5km route
This route will start near the Museum of the Future, pass by Burj Khalifa and Dubai Opera, and end near Dubai Mall. - 10km route
This route will also start near the Museum of the Future but will loop along Sheikh Zayed Road, passing the Dubai Canal Bridge, and end near DIFC Gate.

Affected routes:
Four different types of roads will be closed, the details of which are as follows:
- Sheikh Zayed Road (from Trade Centre Roundabout to the second tower)
- Al-Sukooq Street (between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Barsa Street)
- Lower Financial Centre Road (between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road)
- One-way road of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard

3x Alternative routes:
The RTA has suggested these alternative routes for drivers:
- Financial Center Road (upper section),
- Al Mustaqbal Road,
- Al Wasl Road, and Al Khail Road.
RTA has made many special arrangements to provide good facilities to the people, providing ease to the participants and citizens. The Metro will provide services on the Red and Green lines from 3 am to midnight.
The RTA has said that people traveling should use the Metro Red and Green lines instead of their vehicles so that they do not face any difficulty in their journey. If you also want to participate in this campaign, please arrive at this location via the metro as soon as possible.
