UAE Weather Alert: Rain, Hail & Strong Winds Expected This Weekend

The UAE’s National Center of Meteorology has issued a weather alert for the coming weekend, warning residents of potential rainfall, hailstorms, and strong winds across several emirates. Coastal and inland areas may experience reduced visibility, sandstorms, and stormy conditions — particularly in Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi.

Authorities are urging drivers and outdoor-goers to take precautions, while emergency services are on standby. Stay informed and plan your weekend accordingly with this full weather breakdown.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), unstable weather conditions in the country will continue from Friday evening until the middle of next week. Therefore, temperatures are expected to drop in many areas during these days, and intermittent rain is anticipated.

Heavy fog will cover many areas of Abu Dhabi, which will reduce visibility. The Abu Dhabi Police has advised drivers to drive carefully, urging them to maintain a greater distance from one another and reduce their speed to avoid accidents.

What to expect this weekend

  • The weather will be partly cloudy from Friday to Sunday. Light to moderate and heavy rain is possible in the northern and eastern parts.
  • Small hail is possible in limited areas.
  • Strong winds are likely to blow, reaching speeds of up to 50 km/h, and there is a risk of blowing dust and sand.
  • Sea waves are forecast to remain high in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman during these days.
