Millions of users in the UAE faced problems with internet services, including a large number of du users. Along with general users, residents in various areas also faced problems.
Several Du users experienced internet connectivity issues from 12 noon to around 1 am on Saturday. According to Downdetector, around 7,440 users reported internet outages. These included:
- 70% of users experienced problems with their home internet.
- 8% of users complained about not getting a mobile signal.
- 22% of users experienced a complete service cut.
Thousands of users also reported on Planuae that DU internet was experiencing problems. This issue was causing a lot of problems for people working online. Apart from DU, Etisalat users also faced internet problems.
- 69% of users faced problems with their home internet.
- 27% of users faced mobile signal problems.
- 4% of users were facing problems with video streaming.
Why did this problem occur?
The exact cause of the issue remains unclear, according to Du and Etisalat. Experts suggest it may be due to a technical glitch or network maintenance.
One of our friends’ DU internet went down, so he called the DU call center on 155. DU says that the internet was slowed down due to a technical glitch, but it has now been fixed.
DU said on X:
“Dear users, the technical issue has now been resolved and all services have been restored. Thank you for your patience.”
What to do if the internet goes down?
- Restart your router
- Activate airplane mode on your mobile phone and turn it back off
- If the problem is not resolved, mobile users should restart their mobile or call the company’s helpline.
- Check on Downdetector or other monitoring platforms to see if the problem is widespread.
After the announcement of the companies, it can be seen how quickly DU and Etisalat fixed the internet service outage. To avoid such outages in the future, Du and Etisalat will have to take better measures so that the users do not face any problems.
