According to astronomical calculations by the Dubai Astronomical Group, Ramadan is likely to complete 30 days in 2025. If this happens, there is a high possibility of a 5-day holiday, but this will be decided by the moon-sighting committee after seeing the 29th of Ramadan.

This tradition is an important part of Islamic culture, and residents are encouraged to participate. If you would like to participate, you can follow this method.

To participate, look towards the western horizon after sunset on March 29 to see the new moon. Try to use binoculars or a telescope as this can increase your chances of seeing the moon.

If you do not see the moon on that day, you should report it to your local authorities or the official moon-sighting committee. This way, they can make a decision after more evidence has been collected.

According to the Dubai Astronomical Group, the 30 days of Ramadan are likely to be completed this year, and it is hoped that the new moon of Shawwal will be sighted on March 30, 2025. If this happens, Eid al-Fitr could begin on March 31.
